About

Hello!  I’m Jeramie.  Currently, this blog serves as the place where I am documenting the progress of my current project.  Here’s the story:

My current (unnamed) project

I’m the stay-at-home mom of three kids. I’ve always had a passion to create—photography and writing mostly. I recently read the book “Daily Rituals: How Artists Work” by Mason Currey. While I loved the book, I couldn’t help but notice that there were only two instances of working mothers with children mentioned in the entire book. I’ve always been curious how moms with little kids find time to work on their passion projects. I even Googled it and didn’t really find anything. I’m taking Austin Kleon’s advice from his book, “Show Your Work.” I’m writing the book I want to read. I’m writing a book full of real women’s stories of how they raise their children, tend to their housework and make time to create from their hearts, whether it be writing, photography, dancing, drawing, painting, etc. I want this book to serve as inspiration for creative mothers everywhere and to remind us all that between preparing meals, cleaning house, nursing babies, changing diaper, driving to school, and everything else that is in our job description, there is still room to fulfill that need to create. And, I’m going to highlight just a few women out there who are doing just that.
This is my first book, and I’m very much learning as I go.  I have been met with great response from (almost) everyone I’ve contacted, and that’s very inspiring to me.  On this blog, I’ll be sharing with you information about the women I’ve contacted, whether they choose to participate or not, along with links to what they are working on and why I chose them.  Once I’ve had a chance to visit with each of them and get to know them a little better, I’ll post just a little bit from the interview along with my thoughts and a bit of commentary.
I look forward to sharing my progress with you, and I welcome your comments and questions.  Please feel free to email me at jeramiewrites@gmail.com.
